lately my current PHP helper doesn't help much, he's not reliable, never fixes bugs, etc. Supposedly because of homework, which I don't believe anymore.

I'm looking for someone to help out, I need someone reliable and helpful who can bear with me. Yes, you definitely need to get rid of that way of handling your sessions. They're not as difficult as you might think, however. The only real functions you need are session_start(), and if you want to use cookies, setcookie(). I would suggest reading up on that a little bit.
