Session problem (probably very dumb question)...

Okay, I finally got up the nerve to try my hand at sessions, yay.. everything works fine except two small, annoying errors:

1) Okay, there are some pages on my site that you don't need to be logged in to view, but whenever you ARE logged in and you click one it logs you out, this is very annoying ESPECIALLY since the next error happens too.

2) Okay, this error is not as bad as the first one but when this and the first are mixed together it's like hell.. Okay, whenever you click something and it log syou out and you go back to login it gives you "Bad Username/Password!". This is DEFINENTLY not as important as the first error but I want to get them both fixed.

sessions are not login related. Using sessions to develop a "secure" system is just a specific use of sessions.
I think u omited to use the session_start() function in your public pages hence loosing session.

1) Are you persisting the session to and across the pages that don't require login? if you don't call session_start() on those pages, the session will no longer be associated with that user. thus, when they return to a page that requires session data, how is php to know that it is the orignal user, and not some other random user?
