file() and explode() functions

I have teamroster.dat:

Steve Yzerman|100|75|25
Henrik Zetterberg|50|25|25
Brendan Shanahan|70|20|50

How would I use the file() and explode() functions to open it and display all the data? I would like it to display something similar to...

Name, total points, goals, assists
Steve Yzerman 100 75 25
Henrik Zetterberg 50 25 25
Brendan Shanahan 70 20 50

I have something started but I've been working on it for a few hours and I cant get it to output the way I want it to.

Yes, I am aware of mySQL. I'm trying to avoid using that.

str_replace ("|", " ", $line) will return the line with all the bars (|) replaced with spaces.

You will get a prettier result if you display it in a table

$players = file('filename');
echo "<table>";
for ($i=0 $i < count($players); $i++) {
    $line = $players[$i];
    $array = explode('|', $line)
    echo "<tr>"    //new row

one more quick question, is there any difference between using echo and print?

Very little. The only diff is that print is actually a function returning false if failed.
