Displaying pictures from a DB

I was wondering, is there a way to diplay a picture from a database?

for instance if you had a database with someones name, age, address, you would have fields for these, which you could insert.

But if you wanted a picture of the person to display when you called these details? how would you go about that?

Would you have a field called picture, which you would instert the picture name and location into the database? then you would call it in the usual way?

Im sorry if this is a dumb question! its just puzzled me!

You can either load the binary data from an image into a BLOB field in your DB, or leave the image on the filesystem where it belongs and store the URL in the DB.

The best method is to store the image URL in the DB, then echo the URL in your script to create the IMG tag in HTML.
