Just starting PHP class

We have just started PHP in school. The teacher hasn't ever done PHP, so I am going to be needing a lot of help. 😕

uhh I have a question.. why would the teacher be teaching PHP.. if she don't have a clue on what it is?
wouldn't she have to be like tested on it to be a teacher or something?

I think you would be quite surprised if you knew how many teachers know very little about the subject they are teaching.

Most computer class teachers in high school especially have no clue about what they are teaching they just simply follow from a book.

Thanks everyone. I'm sorry if you don't like earthlink. The cable service happens to be cheap and I live with my fiance and his parents right now because it is closer to work and school. As far as my teacher... I don't know. She's a totally nice person, but she seems to get really off track. The class is a VBScript/PHP class. We just got through the VBScript part (barely) and I can't really say that I have learned anything. I am uncertain as to how far we will get in this portion of class because she can't even seem to get MySQL installed on the classroom computers. (can we say scary?) I'll appreciate any help I can get.
