Additional unwanted signs from form ?

Hello!

I have a form with a textare, the data is sent to another page and collected with $_POST["msg"]

cöäüÖÄÜ\/()=#+*\'$%§

i have it entered this way:
cöäüÖÄÜ\/()=#+*'$%§

==> that means the backslash \ and the apostroph ' gets and additional "\"

Anyone has any idea please?

If you don't want this, turn MagicQuotes in your php.ini off.

Its called magic_quotes_gpc or something like this...

It looks I don't have to change the php.ini file, instead I belive it can be changed in the beginning at the pages.
