Greetings,

Ok i'm having a problem with a form talking to the php code as in the action variable in the php is not being sent the variable from the form. I messed around with it for a while and i figured out that by putting $action= $_POST['action']; i could get the value of it. But i was under the impression from all of the tutorials i've read and looked at, that the for variables will be automatically sent to the php. Is this so? And if so how do i get it to do that on my setup?

it is being sent - using $_POST is the "proper" way of doing things.

What you're referring to is "global variables" which can be turned off or on in php.ini: if they're on then you can refer to them as you have done.

But you're better off leaving them as they are, cos it's safer. For more examples, just do a search for $_POST on this board and spend the next 5 years reading all the results.
