i'm trying to develop a function that reads text from a file and inserts it into an html document. I got as far as inserting the text, but now i need to limit the number of lines outputted on the page, because the site is being displayed on a touch screen. So in order to keep the page from streching i need to develop a function that builds a number of pages depending on the length of the text file, without going over a certain amount of lines. I've been brainstorming for a while over how to do this but I'm new to php and I haven't come up with a solution as of yet. Anyone can help?

if you use the file command to read the text file then you have the number of lines already, just count the array...then divide by the number of lines on the page to get the number of pages....there are several decent paging script that are floating around here and elsewhere
