Links in PHP

Hi,

i try to generate a link to a php-document which mainly puts out html. This html-text ist seperated with named tags. how would this look like?
Something like: my_site.html#test but in php!

??? my_site.php?#test ???

please help.

Couldn't you just use a switch statement instead. Much more effective than jumping to name tags in a page.

<!-- all your html for your contact section -->

     break;
}
?>

so if you go to the link index.php?nav=news it will show the news section or nav=contact will show the contact section.

Anyway, just an idea

The # thingy is called an "Anchor" or "Bookmark" in HTML

So when you use an anchor in your HTML-output, you can handle your PHP file just like a HTML-file. To be really correct : your browser handles the output as html because your script sent it the "text/html" header.

Example :
www.example.com/myscript.php#news
or even
www.example.com/myscript.php?foo=bar&bar=foo#news

you are right, i just tried it and it worked. First i jumped to a named <p>-tag and failed, but a named <a>-tag works fine.

Which tags can i use to jump to with an anchor?

<a ...> IS THE anchor tag. You can use either an href property, or name property. When you use name, then you can jump to it by using #.

So, the answer to your question is... only <a> can be used to create anchors.
