I don't even pretend to be a programmer. What I am is a chick whose day job introduced her to templates and who cannot now abide the idea of trying to handle her personal website without them.
Problem is I'm using FastTemplates and my web host just upgraded their PHP version to 4.3.1, and it seems to have broken my FastTemplates and I have nooooo idea how to fix it.
The error I get (you can look at http://mizkit.com/books/ to see it yourself) is this:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare clear_parse() in /home2/mizkit/public_html/class.FastTemplate.php on line 638
Line 638 says, not at all usefully to me:
//************************************************************
// Aliased function - used for compatibility with CGI::FastTemplate
function clear_parse ()
I'm sure the version of FastTemplates that I'm using is positively ancient--I downloaded it about a year ago, maybe 18 months, and according to the comments it's CVS Revision 1.1.0. I have no idea if there's something more recent--nothing I can find, anyway.
I'm not adverse to changing templating systems, but honestly, most of them look like so much gibberish to me. It's not that I can't learn them, but I really don't even know where to /start/. So if anybody has a suggestion on how I might make my /current/ templates work, well, I'd appreciate that a lot. Thanks.
