Yes, American, Canadian, British (and many others) troops gave their lives to save Europe from nazis and corrupt government. Yes, I am gratefull for their lives to a point you cannot imagine. When I was living in the US of A I concidered joining the US Army to get training and contribute to peace. Didn't because of green card requirement (which I didn't have).

What happened in the military cemetery makes me sick to my stomach. When i saw this in the Times (not on french channels that are as manipulated as the UK or USA ones) I was ashamed.

But it is NOT enough to condemn a whole people. This concludes my contribution to this community.

Anybody could have vandalized the cemetary. Just because it is in France does not necessarily mean that a French person did it. And even if it was, it was probably some ignorant kid who doesn't know any better. Condemning a whole country because of the actions of a few is just wrong.

Bunker, don't let it get to you. The world is full of ignorant people who prefer hatred and ignorance to rational intelligence. The current world affairs are just bringing them out from under their rocks. It's unfortunate, but there isn't much you can do but ignore them.

We're all here to discuss PHP, not world affairs, can we keep the political nonsense out of it?

I am not judging anyone. Just tired of all the abuse I (and all my people) get on the web lately. So at least I'll wait till the end of the war when spirits are settled to come back. Fed up with being called chicken so yes, I chicken out.

When I had to fight for my life when I was a cop or face medical bad news (real bad) I have always faced death with a smile and a cigar.

I don't judge you all guys. I take a few steps back to look at the fight from where I won't get "friendly fire" (and join when needed).

I was going to address that yesterday afternoon and got distracted. I apologize. I won't allow posts/footers like that on any site I run, but we have more help in getting rid of them on the other sites.

it's the whole world going nuts js. I run a irc PHP help community on quakenet and i always have irc running. peeps ignore the fact that i am french so i witness some heavy abuse. then i rise and say where i am from and get abuse myself. then i banned the [admi edit] (I am op on every channel i am in and i admin a major online gaming network for Soldier of fortune 3 on my breaks).

I have been admining many communities since i got hooked on this and NEVER have I taken so much undeserved shit from so many (not just me but i can speak only about what i experience).

Mr. Starkey. You have a great forum here and I have opined on a particular thread or two, not started by me, mind you, and I enjoyed the freedom to do so.

But Mr. Starkey, you mentioned to Bunkerbuddy that my footer was "pathetic". You also created a post where you threatened to ban me because of my footer (which I have changed due to your threat). My footer was my opinion -- an opinion shared by many others, mind you.

Mr. Starkey, how then, can you call me pathetic because I simply opined, yet let Mr. Bunkerbuddy receives not admonishment for using offensive language such as what he typed in this very thread.

I will have no problem with that) then I think fairness dictates you should also treat Bunkerbuddy with the same admonishing tone, in public, for his use of offensive language.

It is your decision, of course.

If you look back at Bunker's posts, you'll see that I've been editting out the curse words. I just haven't had a chance to make him aware of that.

No, I'm not going to ban him, becuase I would have done the same thing, if I wasn't the admin/Manager of the site.

My opinion was that your footer was pathetic.

My job is what dictates that you will be banned.

Yep, same thing on Flashkit, which I'm the webmaster for. I'm not French, but we have 400,000+ members and 50 mods and there is always something going on - someone posting picks of extreme violence, throwing out opinions that are clearly offensive, etc. The mods had to create a sticky thread just for the war. It's at 144 pages now.

I don't think anyone here, other than the obvious, sees you as anything other than an individual with a really scary avatar.

As I stated in my other thread, I have as much respect for France saying no, as I do for anyone saying "yes".

And no, I dont see anyone as "french" "british" or "American" i see people as their personal opinions as morals.
