PHP and autorpm

I've installed PHP and Apache and MySQL by building them from source code. However PHP isn't showing up when i perform a rpm -q php command. Is this because I didn't install PHP with the rpm version? How can I fix this so autorpm will recognize it as being installed (or rpm can recognize it as being installed).

If you want rpm to know its there then it has to be installed through rpm. rpm does not deal directly with source unless its a source rpm.
