Web based report writer

i want to develop a report writer in PHP & MYSQL.
Can anyone suggest me the links abt this which will
helpful to me for devloping this software.I want some idea abt this type of software.
Requirements
- Web-based (all staff telecommute so we need to design & view reports online)
- has a GUI as these reports will be designed & viewed by "marketing"

These reports range from the basic (e.g. showing lists of volunteers) to reports with calculations (counts, averages, sorts) for certain periods of time (daily, weekly, monthly).

I don't know if this will work for you, as it requires the Sablotron libs installed and compiled into PHP, but you never know. Have a look at http://phpreports.sourceforge.net/. I'm using it for a Share Register I've created for the company I'm at, at the moment. If you're creating HUGE reports, it may be a little slow, because it uses XML which is just a little inefficient 🙂

I user a HTML to rtf PHP script and HTML to xls script.

The xls is a freebie.

The rtf is only about $50. I found it very easy to use and supports a wide range of rtf formating.

I found it at www.paggard.com

You can write the file to the server for later download of deliver it right to the browser.
