You can also check out pdflib - I believe it's at www.pdflib.org. It's free for non-commercial use and has faster generation time than fpdf. Unfortunately, if you don't pay a few hundred dollars for a license - all pdf's generated with pdflib will be watermarked. I'd go with fpdf for the money - as it is free 🙂
