SELECT ... where date="2003-04-01"..

Hi everyone, I have a table in my db as follows:

table name: log

id INT(7) | access_date DATE| pageview INT(7)

1 | 2003-04-01 | 533
2 | 2003-04-02 | 461
3 | 2003-04-03 | 452
...

I wonder how I can get the pageview that is recorded on 2003-04-01. Another question is that: how to select last row in a table ?Thank you very much.

the last record, you mean the one with highest id? could be:
SELECT * FROM log ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 1

No, it doesn't work I just don't know why.Maybe because of the DATE attribute. Any idea?

Most DBMS's have some sort of built in max() function. Look at your DB providers manual to find the exact syntax.

Use that to get the maximum row for a particular field or group of fields.

May not nessesary return the last though... depends on your definition of last. Like xblue said, the last record generally has the highest iID number, that is unless you've been fiddling with them.
