the 'general' and 'coding' forums

I'm sometimes annoyed by all those multiple postings, but then again... what is the difference between the 'general' and 'coding' forums actually meant to be?

I can think of some really general question ("what is php?") that do not relate to coding, but the majority seem to fit in both forums.

Could you clarify?

What my intentions of both is.. That Coding is more aimed at the Advanced Questions

So what is PHP shouldnt be found there
and General is pretty much anything. But Answers wont be as solid if your new as it would be in the newbie forum.

Ive also noticed that the answers in the Coding forum are more technical spoken.

But yes you are right saying that both are very similar. I guess it comes down to users thought.

Yeah, General is intended for stuff like you said and:

What's PHP stand for.
Who created PHP.
How hard is it to convert from ASP.
What's new in PHP 5.
Which coding style do you prefer.

Etc, etc.
