image help

I am having trouble with image uploading

image_dir = /thumb
my error is:
SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 681 is not allowed to access / owned by uid 0

imagejpeg: unable to open '/thumb/16.jpg' for writing

and,
Cannot add header information - headers already sent

if anyone can help,
i could use it

the header error is because of the first error - it's not letting you set the header because the error information has already been sent to the browser.

the first i would think is, unfortunately, self explanatory - it's not letting you have write access to that directory. mayb e contact your hosters?
