help me with new publishing

Hi! I am designing a web newspaper and want to try php as I have heard alot about it. But I am totally unaware (illiterate😃)of the php Installation. I have seen a lot of News Publishing Scripts but do not know how to install that. I want to use php features too like recommend the page, printer friendly , most popular...etc Caany 1 help me out plz? 😕

First things first. I suggest most likely getting a book or reading some basic PHP Tutorials and get some idea on PHP.

Now.
Printer Friendly Pages are basically pages with the least amount of graphics. Take a look and you'll notice that on all sites that use it.

Most Popular would have some sort of counter which counts view or replies to something

I wouldnt try and get those features when starting off. But make a simple script that allows you to. Add, edit and delete news.

You may wanna learn without MySQL first. So Evilwarius and OxyScripts are good for that.
