Installing GDlib on Apache server

Main question, how do I install GDlib (2.0 pref.).

How well will it work?

I have:
apache_2.0.45-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi
php-4.3.1-Win32.zip
(installed properly and works)

I've heard (wispers) of GDlib being installed with PHP 4.3.1 but it sure doesn't work if so...

You can uncomment in php.ini:
;extension=php_gd2.dll
but thing is.. php_gd2.dll doesn't exist anywhere.

Where can I get this file? Maybe someone here has it.

I assume this is a file that needs to be compiled with a C++ or whatever it's called program. 🙂

I need a php_gd2.dll file that can take care of .jpg and .gif files for thumbnailing purposes.

I guess you sitting on a Windows machine as you talking DLL:s. Have you done a simple search for php_gd2.dll on your machine? Have you not found it? Then you need to download it, read the PHP Manual about this.
Of course I presume that you have set the extension path in php.ini right. If this is not the case you need to go back to php.ini and the manual to learn again ;-)

that's retarded. I searched for the file on my computer and nothing showed up.. now I go to /php/extensions and it's all righ tthere.. and second.. why didn't I check that folder before?
