parse error

Hi I'm fooling around a little with mysql .I'm trying to make something very simple,you get a form where you input the top 5 of a competition then mysql updates this top 5.Normally it should update the teams + the points ,but for now I made it to update 1 team and that doesn't work I get "parse error on line 3"...what's rang?

Change to this


$server = mysql_connect("localhost","JM","pas") 
      or die("no connection");

if your going to use the die function then you dont need to end mysql_connect with ; you will need to end it at the end of the die function

nope that doesn't seem to be the problem - run it yourself you'll see,still getting parse error

Hmm, xlordt is right, you have to change that...

Change $submit in $HTTP_POST_VARS['sumbit']

when i take out that ; before the or it runs fine, and doesnt with it in.

hm dreamweaver seemed to have decoded it rangly (said somebody who just copy,pasted it and send to me),it works fine now.

Another question how do you update multible records?

"UPDATE teams SET theteams='$team1','$team2,'team3','team4','team5','team6' WHERE ploegen_ID=1,theteams_ID=2,theteams_ID=3,theteams_ID=4,theteams_ID=5,theteams_ID=6 ";

doesn't work
