Hey there fellow coders,
After working for a while with PHP and browsing/reading around the net, I want to go further in my learning and buy a book to learn from.
Here are my points of interest:
- PHP/MySQL Application Design (database organisation, folder organisation, functions organisation, how to in general)
- PHP/MySQL Application Architecture (kinda like the first one)
- PHP advanced coding tips/tricks/articles/tutorials. Everything a advanced coder should know about.
- CMS (especially that, like the Tier concepts, which I'm not really familiar with but seem the professional way to work with)
- Coding standards and everything AROUND built-in functions and copy and paste coding.
As you can see, a book with complete scripts is not what I'm looking for, because I'd rather do it from scratch and learn from my errors than copy and paste and not understand how it really works. What I'm searching for is the 'how-to' and not the show-me-a-code type of book.
If you have many suggestions, please write them up, I would be more than pleased to hear them!
P.S - Should I wait for a PHP5 book too?
Thanks
