php textbox question

lets say i have 2 text boxes. one on top of the other.. like this
textbox
textbox

the top one has a limit of 400 chars, no more can be typed
the bottom one shows how many chars are left to be typed
is there a way to live post this in php?
every char that is typed passes to the textbox on the bottom that a new char has been entered or deleted...

is this possible.. and if so, can someone throw out a function i might could use for it. or an idea. thanks tons.

it's not possible to do this with PHP, since it's a ServerSideLanguage not a ClientSide one. Instead use javascript.
One Example which counts the chars:
