How to check if date has passed...

Hi!

I need to have a little function that checks if a certain date has passed and I would apreciate any help I can get with this problem...

I want to send three variables to the function: $vYear, $vMonth and $vDay, and I want the function to check if the date has passed or not...

if (time() > mktime(0,0,0,$vMonth,$vDay,$vYear))
{
  echo "date has passed";
}
else
{
  echo "date still to come";
}
