Introducing Myself

Hello All!

I am Eric, AKA Maiku. Just wanted to give a little introduction to myself.

I am new at PHP, but I have a strong desire to learn it. Already it seems like it can do anything you want it to, if you have the know-how. My goal is to get that know-how.

I'll probably be asking alot of questions, as I am hopelessly a newbie. I have my newb PHP books and a PHP web account. . . and I am going to see how far I can take this. Ultimately, I wish to create a deeply immersive browser based choose your own adventure game in PHP and MySQL, but that is a long long ways off.

Anyways, does anyone have any simple suggestions for a newbie such as me? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

Looked at the manual. . . it intimidated me so I think I'll read my newbie book first.

What do the acronyms RTFM and UTSL mean? If it's obvious I'll have to kick myself 😉

RTFM = read the f*cking manual
UTSL = use the source, Luke! (a pun on "use the force, Luke!" from Star Wars)

Actually I edited FAQ to add those very useful and yet not PHP dependant accronyms when I posted my first answer here 😃
