I need quite a bit of basic PHP help

Hello!

From looking through some other threads, I've realized that this is the place for PHP help.

And so I've come.

I'm the webmaster of Qbaka.com, an anime and gaming website, and I'd like to incorporate PHP in many sections. Problem is, I'm not too savvy with any of this yet. In fact, I'm a total and complete newbie. Here are some things I'm looking to do:

I'd like to have a remote updater for the news pages, where I (or anyone else with the proper login) can add news from anywhere we have a connection. Editing the HTML document every time is getting quite old....
I'd like to have a way to post reviews and previews for anime and games in their specific sections from anywhere. Most preferably, this will be through some sort of form, and people will need to log in to do it (and depending on who they log in as, that's who will be given the credit for that particular review/preview).
I'd like to have a remote PHP uploader for the site. We have downloads sections, and I'd like to be able to upload files to specific directories (i.e. there's one for music, one for anime, one for manga, one for miscellaneous things)

There are other things I'd like later on, but these three are ones I've been aching over for quite some time. If anyone can help me find these scripts, and then, if I need it, help me get them installed and working, I'd be eternally appreciative.

In fact, I'm appreciative in advance.

The PHP Manual is a great resource tool. Use it to your advantage. 🙂

Also, be sure and use the very helpful Search feature that PHP Builder has to offer. You'll find the answer to a lot of your questions there. If you need help with something, always feel free to ask for it, everyone here is usually willing to help out, just be sure to consult the methods above first. 🙂

The objectives that you are trying to reach aren't really all that hard if you know basic PHP and MySQL. If you have any programming background (C/C++/Java/etc) then PHP won't be as hard to catch onto. However, even if you are new to programming in general PHP/MySQL still isn't that hard.

If you want pre-made scripts, try HotScripts first. I'm sure there are other sites like this out there however this is the only one that comes to mind at the moment. Good luck!

I'll do my best to work all this out on my own, and if I have any problems, you can be sure you'll see me here. But, until that point, if anyone else has any ideas to make this simple for me until I can get a grasp on PHP, please, PM me, or post here.
