Can I delete PHP if its not working and install again without a problem?

Hi folks, this may seem like a stupid question. BUt, I have had alot of trouble getting PHP to work. I tried a manual install, but it is obvious that it is not working. Can I delete it and go with the autoinstall version? Is there any difference? Im working on a WInXP Pro system where Im trying to surf my own computer to see if I can make a website connect to a database on my own harddrive, using MySQL.

I used Apache as my web server on a Windows 2000 SP2 system and it worked fine. I could never get on with ODBC. More natural to use Apache with PHP and MySQL. Have a look at this tutorial from Webmonkey.

PHP can be difficult to install, if you find it so post to a forum giving specific details.
