storing and retrieving formatted text

Hi, as ever i seem to have been stumped by what im pretty sure should be quite simple (or maybe Im just hoping 😉 )

i am trying to set up a simple content management sytem allowing users to post up articles in different catagories. Ive got just about everything sorted except for getting content that has been entered through a form to show up with the original paragraph and line breaks showing.

in case i havent made it clear, just as this is my third paragraph in this post it will show up as the third paragraph when i post it and people look at it. This is what I want to achieve on my site. Im not worried about other formatting 😉

any help would be most appreciated

so u want the line breaks where people put them?...

so they enter this:

this is

me

and when they look at it it appears the same?

well if its in a textarea and its called $text

after just put $text=nl2br($text);
