PHP Post to another PHP page

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone could help me with this.

I have a php page which collects user info. This page posts to itself for error checking. Once I determine that there are no errors I would like to pass the vars collected to another php page server side. Ie it is a three step process and I don't want to write to the database until at least the 2nd step is complete.

Can anyone help with this...

Why not do it all on one file? It'll save you the trouble of trying to work around this problem you are having. It won't make the file too big, and it won't make the file hard to maintain, if you do it well.

Its too much info to do on one page.

First page collects all the user info.

Second page display all the terms and user agreements etc.

Third page explains email confirmation of account.

It can't be that hard to do. I'm sure there are many sites out their with multiple page forms. Aren't There?

I've decided to just use session variables. Is this ok. I am only storing about 18 vars

Session variables should work for you. If you wanted, you could create hidden input fields for all the values you need to pass on form #2. When the use hits the OK button to verify the information is correct, it then submits those values on to your third page.

I agree with BuzzLY; this is the sort of thing session variables were invented for.

The problem with the hidden form field approach is that it requires all those form contents to be shuttled back and forth between the browser and the server half a dozen times, and whenever they're out there on the browser you have no control over them (you would have to recheck them every time to make sure they're still valid).

Thanks everyone. I thought of hidden fields but this wouldn't be secure enough.

Guess session vars are the way too go...
