PHP seems to have disabled MySQL, help

Please help,

I installed MySQL on WinXP Pro using IIS. Then I installed PHP only to find that MySQL no longer works. I removed MySQL and reinstalled it. Not only will it still not work, I get a message that it is already running when I try to install it as a service. Furthermore, when I try to kill it, I get a message saying that the request was actively refused.

to reinstall mysql, you will first need to get it out of the services area, to do that you will need to go into the registry and take it out of there, search yahoo.com for removing services windows xp administrative tools, that is how i found it, once you remove all the services of mysql reinstall it, then you may have to recompile php with mysql support, but if you used an installer it should be fine
