1 warning about checking referers.
As we discovered where I work, some customers were not able to access areas of the site because either their network or their ISP is using a proxy server that is masking their IP and the referring URL.

In this case, the referer check is unreliable.

i wouldn't rely only on HTTP_REFERER, it is unreliable and is easily spoofable, people spoof their ip's all the time to hack
