Image resize

I wanna resize a image stored in a Longblob field in a MySQL database only to show it as a thumbnail.

Can anyone help me?

Are there any way to do it without use a temp file?

two things come to mind here

1) Why are yiu storing the image in the db? Just a question / i never store the images in a db it makes db management/ backup a nightmare

Anyway back to the question you asked.

You can do one of the following

a) use the gd library and its functions to do the resizing
or
b) Simply use html to specifiy the height / width of the image to the size that you want.

Answering to ur question, i store the image into the database to get an easy way to upload, register into the database and update later the register.

back to my question, could u tell me more about how to do it with the GD library or imagemagik?

i got a example in this board but i always get a black image after resizing.
