several actions within a page

I have made a PHP-site, with a "settings-page" included. That page must perform several actions, but those actions are usually not more than 3 or 4 lines of code. How can I put all those actions within one page (In a way that every action has a simple <a href... with refers to the same page.

I don't really like to use a single php-file for every small action.

Examples are resetting a counter in the database, clear a specific table in the database. Most of these operations can be done with one SQL-statement.

Are you saying that when a certain page loads you want it to reset counter/clear database, etc, then load the page? You want these things to happen automatically or no-like when a form is submitted?

I'm not really clear what you mean, maybe someone else understands?

Try this:

The Key is to seperate your page views from your processing.
I keep my processes at the top and views at the bottom and
use if...elseif statements to go to the view I need or the process I need.

example:

...and the cycle repeats itself. Each time you click on the link in one of the views it will take you to the appropriate process
via utilizing the $_GET array variable which is a generic array
of the method=GET which passes a url encoded string of key=value pairs.

Hope this helps. It gets a little confusing when your code reaches
1000 lines of code.

That looks pretty straightforward, but still I get some errors:

Those lines 15 and 23 refers to:
if($_GET[process] == "tellerReset")

and line 30 refers to:
if(!$view)

I guess your PHP error level is quite high so it warns you when you use old syntax/undefinded variables.

if($GET[process] == "tellerReset")

Use

if($_GET["process"] == "tellerReset")

instead.

if(!$view)

Here you get a notice because view might be undefined, e.g. when you call your page with process=process_2. Only the first if-statement sets $view, so you should put

$view = "";

at the beginning of your page.

yes...I agree with natty_dreadlock that your error level is propably set to high.. except you do not need to define the
scalar $view to $view = ""; beforehand. Because, what if you
needed to send a new value in $view by using the POST method or GET method. When you sent $view = 'to something' in one of the if...elseif blocks, or that value was posted, i.e. in a process block, you would be resetting $view back to null next time the script loads containing the $POST or $GET values. Which would cause your script to not function correctly or not go to the proper view. Technically $view is getting initialized in this code:

if(!$view)

This script should work exactly like it is....with a little extra code of course. I use this code the same exact way every day when i write database driven web management systems. And it works!

I guess it's again a problem with the error level:

When PHP tries to check the scalar $view in the if-statement, it say $view is undefined because $view is only used in the first if-statement of the page.
So setting $view at the beginning should solve the problem. I dont think that there's any need to pass $view via $GET or $POST:
