Just Joined and I despise my username

Is there some kind of honest way I can change my ridiculous sounding name other than signing on as another user and messing things up?

I wanna become D-man (My name is Dave), and I put DPman by accident. (been burning a lotta oil reading about PHP and stuff. I'm starting to act weird and see things...

This early, I think you could just reregister under the new username and then get the old one deregistered (funnily enough, it appears you can't deregister yourself, unless the option is hidden where I haven't found it).
