Current server main function is a PHP/MySQL webserver and mailserver that performs a "mail merge" - takes info from db and merges into the body of the email.
None of the tables are very large, < 1000 rows. But the performance on the mail merge and send is horrible which is either due to the server or my dsl line.
Current server is as such: Dual 333 Celerons on a Abit BP6 w/ 655 meg of ram.
Would increasing the hardware help the performance of the queries and PHP execution?
I've got a 600mhz Duron sitting around - would this help?
Any thoughs on a recommended system would be helpful as well.
