Query in a text field?

Is it possible to do a querry in a text field?

I was wondering if a querry (done through a PHP web-page of course) on say, a word from the text field, can be done.

For example, I have a field that has information such as:

Terminator 2, Donke's Revenge, Man in the Moon, contact. These are my favorite movies.

Say I wanted to search for the word "Moon."

Use wildcards (%)

$query = "select * from table where LOWER(textfield) LIKE '%moon%' ";

Using lower to find Moon or moon

Excellent barand. I guess that a simple MySQL query would do then?

Also, how would one find, say a partial word fragment, as in - if someone makes a search for the word "pper" - how would one find all entries where the word contains "pper"? (as is: supper)
