Hello,

I was wondering if there was any way to capture a visitor's email address if I know they will be visiting a certain page from their email program (they are clicking the link from an email).

You could place a fake image if its HTML email.

Oh, then make all the links in the email like this:

http://www.yourdomain.com/yourpage.php?EMAIL=[e-mail]

Course, that's assumign you already know their email address... wait... why are you trying to capture their email address if you have already emailed them... don't you have to KNOW their email to email them...?

Obviously if I knew the email addresses I wouldn't need to capture them. I am running an email marketing campaign that I have leased an opt-in list (I don't actually see the email addresses). I want to capture the email addresses of the people responding to my email message to verify they are legitimate and to use for future campaigns.

I don't see how you can send emails to addresses you don't know. May they be collected legally, grabbed from the web (spam) or maybe randomly generated (inefficient spam?), at the point where you send the emails you should have the addresses, or am I wrong and superwormy is too?

Even if you have them you'd probably need to send the emails one by one in order to create unique links. Other than that I don't see a chance to recognize the individual recipients.

I think you're only chance is in either having unique links / image tags with their email address embedded in them, or some tricky javascript to alter links / image tags on the fly.

Look this has NOTHING to do with SPAM!!

I am renting a list - email marketers sell opt-in lists to advertisers like me. What I am trying to do is capture the email visitors to my email landing page.

When you rent a list, you never see the email addresses - the list rental company sends out the emails for you. I pay a fee per email address.

The only way for me to verify I am not getting ripped off is to capture the email addresses of the people who land on my landing page.

I am looking for a script that can capture an email address of someone who has presumably just clicked on a link from their inbox.

I don't think there is a way with PHP if you don't know the email addresses before you send your SPAM, I mean legit emails. You could definitely do it if you knew the email addresses before you sent it. And if you don’t think it’s spam, consider your response rates.
