Receive SMS and then forward it to email

😕 Has anybody developed a system whereby a user will be able to send SMS with the following format:
"[e-mail]" This is my message

to a specific number and an application (Java or PHP Based may be) will parse this SMS, take the first string enclosed in " marks as the email address and send the rest of the message as email body?

Well, basically, this application will get the SMS and send the message to user-specified email address.

What language suits this system and what server should i have to handle such task?

Any helps or online resources on this matter will be very much appreciated.

What are you using to "get the sms"? SMS messaging is well within the ability of PHP. It's just a matter of "getting the sms"

I have a very vague idea on this matter, actually. I was searching for some online information on this but what I found was the list of SMS Server software that will do the job for you and they are absolutely not FREE.

Has anybody actually develop such software using PHP? Will it be possible? If yes, what kind of functions?

Probably there exist some kinds of API for PHP to connect to the SMS Server and the get the Message.
