include_path problem

Hi,

Im new to PHP and my host just installed it. But im trying to use a mod for Invision Power Board that allows you to list the most recent posts on your homepage. I followed the instructions correctly and set it up, then in index.php page i put a call to the script like

<?php
include('http://www.gamers-link.co.uk/Forums/ssi.php?a=lastpost');
?>

but after running th scrip it get 2 errors wich are:

Warning: main() [function.main]: cannot represent a stream of type socket as a STDIO FILE* in E:\home\Default\gamers-link.co.uk\htdocs\newsite\index.php on line 54

Warning: main() [function.main]: Failed opening 'http://www.gamers-link.co.uk/Forums/ssi.php?a=lastposts' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in E:\home\Default\gamers-link.co.uk\htdocs\newsite\index.php on line 54

so I emailed my host and they said the error was with include_path ive searched every file on the server for include_path and found no refernece to it, so my question is what is causing this error and how can i fix it?

You cannot have a query string in an include

and secondly you must have it

path/to/file

not domain.com/path/to/file

How would I do it then?
Thats how the tutorial that came with the mod said to do it and and also how Invision says to do it.

oh and if I put index.php in the same folder as ssi.php and call it like

<?php
include('ssi.php?a=lastpost');
?>

it gives the same error.

I don't believe includes can properly recognize URL variables.
If you put just:

<?php include("whatever.php") ?>

Then it will work.

As for the path ... say you have whatever.php in the folder /inc
You would simply go

<?php include("/inc/whatever.php") ?>
