I heard that theres some program and i forget what it was called, that allowed Windows and Linux to be installed together.. The program allowed you the use to switch from either..

Does anyone know what it is.. Or know where i maybe able to get it.

I think what you're looking for is VMware. Don't try this on a pc with important data though, it's never been very stable. My suggestion, just get another box, and a KVM switch, network the 2 and it'll make life a hell of a lot easier 😉

VMWare is very stable. I've run it on RedHat 7 and 8, using Windows 2000 and NT as the virtual machines without any problems. Just don't try running it on a slow machine with no RAM, because as you can imagine running two operating systems at one time can tax the hardware.

I've been using it fr years as well and havent had any problems except on an old 333MHz with 196 megs and I've had a problem with the display on a Thinkpad - it's weirded out to the point that I just went with a dual boot.

But on the several other systems I've used it on, it's been great.

Yeah, VMWware is great for putting on a dedicated server and then running all your windows servers on that server as seperate instances. We did that with Crystal Reports. Windows 2k / CR directly on the hardware crashed every few days. W2k/CR on top of VMWARE never ever crashes.

On another note, there was an article from the guy what runs the www.microsoft.com web site, talking about how great Win2.003k is, and how they are getting "insane" uptimes.

Like 30 or 60 days.
