I just changed the subject of a thread that I had started so that it read <thread title> --RESOLVED--
I've seen this on other forums and think that it is quite helpfull. Any chance? Rob
Yes, that would be useful. Since editing posts on this board isn't over-abused, I don't think this would be, either.
I must agree too. It would be nice if people got used to it on the help forum so we would know when a issue was solved.
I think we've found a way to do this by adding a button and using an include at the top of the doc. I can't hack the board due to the amount of time it'd take to do upgrades, so I had to come up with something. volleytotal came up with the solution. I'll try and implement it next week.
WOW quick!! Thank you very much! 😃 😃
Suggestion: I think the temptation is to close a resolved thread, but could you consider either keeping it open, or allowing the author the option to keep the thread open? Sometimes even though the issue was resolved, there is more discussion going on.This thread is a prime example of that.
Thanks!
Buzz, I wasn't going to close the thread. I'm just creating an include and a link with a few vars to indicate that the script in the include needs to rewrite the subject field in te DB. That's it.
Eeeeeeexcellent!
Where is this link? I just changed the subject of this thread to test and it didn't change on teh forum. Cheers Rob
Hmm, it changed inside the thread, but not outside.
Must be kept in two locations in the database.
All done 🙂
And now it's backwards. o_O
Eh? Not following. Backwards? O_o
Outside of the thread, it is listed as [Resolved] Changing the subject. Inside the thread, in the subject field, it's listed as Changing the subject --RESOLVED?--.
See? It was the other way around.
