[Resolved] Outputing images to a browser

I have a script that updates a mysql DB and then places images in a folder. the entry for the image in the DB is the path in relation to the script. Attached is a snippet of code to output the information to a page. It works for the DB entries but does not display the image. (I have confirmed they are in the directory and the DB does contain the images). As you can see, I have given this several attempts by the commented out failures... But still all fail to display the image. Running php 4.2 with mysql 3.x on a Linus RH 8.O box. Any thoughts?

OK, but my images are in a directory, not in teh DB. The field in the DB is just the path/filename.

i can make it work with a different display script if the image is in the DB, but not if the image is in a directory. I have ruled out a permission problem.

permissions? what does it say? or do you just have a little cross?
then probably a relative path is not correct

Permission reply: i checked the directory has rwe permission for apache user.

on the typo reply: are you saying i need single quotes instead of double?

also, do i need to send some type of a header message in the code... by the way i have attached the code as a text file. check it out. remove the .txt.

you will see many attempts to get an image to display.

you don't need any MIME/header info cause you just want to get
the path and name from the table, right?
I can't find any $row related typo, though single quotes are imho better
what's the ERROR-Message?? Or what does it show [or not]?

it provides no error message; just no image appears at all. or if you do a quick refresh, you can quickly see the border drawn of the pic, nothing appearing and then disappearing. using netscape 6.x

so please right-click the little cross and look for the file location information
is it correct? is there no filename?

Where is $row in this link? I didn't see anything like $image_1=$row['image_1']. So Bascially $image_1 has no value.

note the warnings are related to a function error; please ignore. but you can see the image tag is there and teh image does exist. (20a is just to test)

The URL is incorrect. What is the website URL or root path? Must be something like hacire.net .com .biz or whatever. If offline, use localhost.

that is generated and is a correct url in my local network. but look at this generated html from the php script: it should generate an image:
