browsing directories using windows explorer

Hiya is there any way (snippet of code) to
1. hit a browse button that opens windows explorer
2. The user selects a file
3. The text feild in the form is filled in with the path to this file in the form of C:/test/file_here

Or can someone recommend another quick and easy way of browsing file systems?

This is a php forum... That would be done with simple html... You shouldn't try to learn php without knowing html. 😛

where should this be inserted and the Name of the file...is that the path to windows explorer?

You don't need to specify Windows Explorer.

The simple html Blob posted for you is a standard form element in the html language. A "BROWSE" button will appear next to the field which subsequently opens a standard open dialogue window.

Frankly, Blob is right..... learn html first, you'll not get very far in php without it ;-)

I have tried this code and I cant believe that it does all that in one line of code. I am amazed that html can do that.....I always have used html for pretty colours and layout. I realise that using Dreamweaver is not the best way to learn the facets of HTML.
