MySQL 4+ / RH 8.0

Has anyone tried to install the MySQL 4.0+ RPM's from the www.mysql.com site on a RedHat 8.0 box?

Any problems with these RPMS?

RedHat sometimes uses funky directory structures, and I need to upgrade a production server with a minimal of problems/downtime.

If anyone has attempted to install the MySQL 4 rpms, please give me your feedback....

I installed MySQL 4.0.12 using the RPMs on a test system running RH 8 and haven't had any problems so far.

Did you previously have Mysql 3.2 installed?

Which php-mysql rpm did you use?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but I don't have a test system easily accesible right now.

Im thinking this:
Uninstall MySQL 3.2 rpms
Leave the PHP-Mysql rpm intact
Install Mysql 4.0.12 from the rpms

No I didn't have any older versions of MySQL installed on that system, I just dumped my data and structure to import to it. As for the php-mysql rpm, I'm not sure, I compiled my own so I didn't need that file.

I Thought you installed from RPM?

I installed MySQL from rpms, but I compiled php.

Ahhhh... That makes more sense.... Unfortunately I will have to do this on a production server where I have about a 30 minute window of downtime (yikes)...
