Template and Echo statement Problems

Hello, I'm new here and I hope someone can help me as I am new to php!

My site has all its pages in php format as shown below:

For sake of easy reading I cut down the variable lengths! Anyway, the page doesnt load, it just leaves a blank page and I cannot think why.
The included file is a html template which has php statements echoing the variables above.

Does anyone know how I can cure this problem?

Try breaking those tags down:

<h1><center>Welcome Folks!</center></h1>

Does lycos even support PHP? As far as I know, no free webhosts, even for premium members, offer PHP, ASP, SQL, ORACLE support.

You'll probably have to scrimp and save your cash and buy some webspace from a place that offers what you need.

Tripod do support php as my trial pages worked perfectly and went off without a hitch, they were just the list of variables and the template in the one php file though.
Anyway yea I am planning an upgrade to paid hosting at the end of next month!

For testing purposes, try echoing some text, in both files, to try to find where the error is. If you still have a problem and can't narrow it down, contact Tripod tech support and find out if they have any problems with includes.

Did you test with the code you posted? If not, you should post the exact code that isn't working -- it is possible that in "cutting down" the size of the file, you are eliminating the very thing causing the problem!

As far as I can tell, your posted code looks fine.

so far i know there are lots of php and mysql server are free and avalible.

Tip: search HotScript.com for free host of php and mysql.

I have tryed the echoing idea, it works fine in the template file its just the include statement I recon! Il have a word with tripod and see what they say and I'l check the php restrictions also!
As for cutting the code, I tryed with the code cut down exactly as posted and still had problems!
Any other sugestions?

As far as cutting down code, ph8edsicness, that's not always a good idea. In the case of <center>, as of HTML 4.0 it is deprecated. It is recommended to use the tag's align='center' attribute if available, or use stylesheets. That also goes for the <font> tag.
