include error

Alright on my hosted server I am getting this error

Warning: main() [function.main]: Failed opening '/includes/header.php' for inclusion (include_path='') in /home/partrack/public_html/registration/registerNow.php on line 3

Warning: main(/includes/mastHead.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /home/partrack/public_html/registration/registerNow.php on line 5 

when I try to include files with a relative path if go directly to that file it works. I am getting this error for all my includes any ideas?

try in include ./inc/file_name.php, ../inc/file_name.php, inc/file_name.php, or full path from the dir_base_path tell end.

yeah I ended up includeing from my complete roor not my web root and the include works. however it shouldn't work that way as my imagess still work with

/images/picture.gif
