connect Linux and window

I have two computers(C1, C2) installed Win XP.

They are connected.
I can see the folders and files of C2 in C1.
I can see the folders and files of C1 in C2.

I can send any files of C1 into C2.
I can send any files of C2 into C1.

Now I am considering that I change C2 into Linux.

If I install Linux in my C2, Can I see the folders and files of C1(Window) in C2(Linux) and the folders and files of C2(Linux) in C1(Window)?

Of course, It'll need some works, I guess. if is is possible

Linneighbourhood is also a useful graphical interface for some aspects of linux/windows networking. You'll need to have samba running before you can use it (I think).
