GD ImagettfText font not found

Hi,

From searching these forums and elsewhere I know this problem has been raised before. I'm just hopeing someone has a solution..

My host(s) have upgraded php and installed GD2 . Since then I can't get any code using ImagettfText() to work. I get the 'font not found' error.

From previous threads I saw suggestions to use an absolute path to the font file, and also suggestions that a long path name was also causing problems.

I have tried every work-around and still have no joy. The problem is present on at least 3 servers that upgraded to GD2.

Locally I have GD1.6 and everything works fine.

Can anyone suggest a solution, or where I might look... or alternitavly can someone tell me how I can determine the path that ImagettfText() is using when looking for the font.

I believe imagettftext() looks in both the current directory and the include directory.
If you supply it an absolute pathname, it should find it like that, if it's not, there's something wacky with GD.

Thanx - I must have spent two nights searching the net for a solution. Now I have it working , using

$path = "Fonts/arial.ttf";
$path = realpath($path);

I tried using an absolute path before but it didn't work. Now I see that realpath() adds " /is/htdocs/24026/ " to the pathname ( on my server).
