Is this Feature Available in PHP?

hi,

How can I redirect or go to another url or page inside the code?
E.g

if ($i < 5)
{
//What the code must I place here to go to [url]http://www.phpbuilder.com[/url]
}
elseif($i < 9)
{
//go to mycontact.php
}
else
{
//the rest of the page code
}

Please if you know the solution or the answer, reply as soon as you can.🙂

usually you can redirect using
header("Location: nextpage.php");

Problem is to open a link in a new window, maybe you could
write javascript: window.open(....)

Well, it's not a feature in PHP, but it is a feature that you can write headers. Headers have been around since HTTP has been around. By using the header() function, you can write a "Location" header to the user.
If it's another site:
header("Location: http://www.google.com/");
Or, if it's on your site:
header("Location: [url]http://[/url]".$SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].dirname($SERVER['PHP_SELF'])."/page.php");

This will work for some browsers, but not all. Most programmers like to have their programs compatible with as many browsers as possible, so one should always supply the entire URL.

Oh, That's what I was afraid! 🙂
When i try to use the header function inside the code, an error message is developed, announce about, the header is already sent🙁
So, How to make the direction as an option, i.e, I can place it in anywhere inside the code.

You could also use the META tag:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=index.php">
This redirects to index.php after 0 seconds.
