GRRR PHP! Question...

I'm using a content.php?id=X to link my navigation bar.

When I click on the linked text it prompts me to download content.php to my PC. Anyone know why?

Either you don't have PHP running on your server, or it's not set up to recognize pages with the .php extension as PHP pages.

In your httpd.conf file, check the line that says:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php3 .phtml .php4

(that's what mine says)... Does yours have .php? Sometimes it might not. If not, add it, and restart Apache.

That could possibly be it. I'll check it when I get home. I think it only had .php3. :eek:

That wasn't the problem. I should've known that already being I have tested other .php documents before and they've run. Duh

So any other suggestions? Is there something I'm missing in my link maybe?

I'm using dreamweaver so I added the links manually:

http://localhost:8080/tests/content.php?id=X (X being whatever id # is assigned to a given link.)

Strange... does it only prompt for the download when you add the "?id=X" to the end? Do you have another page that DOES load properly from the same directory?

I have tested other .php documents by typing:

http://localhost:8080/tests/docname.php

Those have worked (despite my parsing errors :p )

It's just this damn link stuff.

I just realized though Dreamweaver set the links to:

D:/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver4/Lessons/LessonFiles/ClockWork/content.php

Could that be why it is trying to download it?

Um... yeah... LOL Since it's coming from D:\ and not your Apache server, your browser doesn't know what to do with the file. So, it presents the download dialog.
