Installing PHP, Web Server, etc.

Hi, This is my first post.

I was wondering what is a good web server to use on my home computer for running PHP and CGI scripts. A friend of mine recommend me to try Abyss Web Server, which seems to run fine for html pages, but I get lots of errors when i run php scripts. I was wondering if there was a all in 1 package thats easy to use and already to go. Something that has a web server, PHP, CGI, and mysql.

Apache server is a good server and easy to set up (if you read the documentation)

CGI-BIN is built in, but you will need to install PHP(follow the php instructions) and you are ready to go.

Apache is free
php is free
MySql is free

Free = Good

If you were after a package there isnt one that has Apache, php and CGI

However there are that have Apache, PHP and MySQL. I dont recommend them unless you have absolutely no previous knowledge in programming.

Otherwise you should install them all seperately like blindeddie suggested.

If you come into any trouble there is http://robouk.mchost.com (Sometimes is Down due to Bandwidth etc). It has a tutorial in the PHP section on how to install them all. But its kinda accient.
